The varsity softball team was named Bi-District champions after winning 10-0 against Lone Star High School on Friday, April 29. We are a well-rounded team that compliments each other, and no one is above the rest, softball Coach Leigh Anne Budd said. Each team member embraces and loves each other for all the different qualities they bring to the table. The team advanced to round two of the playoffs, where they will be playing against Woodrow Wilson on Friday, May 6, at Carrollton Ranchview.

The girls varsity soccer team competed at their first round of playoffs last night, March 24, where they won 3-2 against Lone Star. Playoffs are exciting. Its really rewarding to see all that we have worked for during district season payoff,  junior Ella Allen said. The team advanced to round two and named Bi-District champions.

After receiving their medals, Juniors Brooke Wieczorek, Masyn Marble, and senior Xavier Jukes smile. All three teammates made the podium, with Wieczorek placing fifth, Marble placing third and Jukes placing second. Wieczorek said, I could not have made it here without my team and my coaches. And Im really grateful that they were all here for me to help me get this far.

On Jan. 28, the Rock Hill Varsity girls soccer team hosted teacher appreciation night. I loved being able to show how much I appreciate my teachers, sophomore Sam Boettiger said. During the game between The Colony, the girls were pushing through to win the game of 3-1.

Sophomore Shawn Reid swims the 200 freestyle event. He took first with a time of 2:03.33, a personal best. Despite his results, Reid pushed himself farther and took a few practice laps. I [did] okay but I could have definitely gone faster. I know I can give that one extra pull, that one extra kick underwater, and [it would]   affect [my time] in the smallest way, Reid said.

Cheerleaders wave as the football team walks down the arena court. Football played their first game last Thursday against Frisco Heritage but lost. We havent been practicing that long, junior and wide receiver Ryan Threat said. But I feel that our team chemistry is getting better everyday.
